HAE IN [LAUREN] PARK, PH.D.

Hello, my name is Hae In (Lauren) Park, and I am an assistant professor in the Department of Applied English Linguistics & Translation Studies at Kyung Hee University in South Korea. My research interests include bilingualism and cognition, cross-linguistic influence, research methodology in relation to second language proficiency assessment and reporting practices. I am particularly interested in how learning an additional language and culture influences our non-linguistic behavior, specifically our thought processes. My publications can be found on the Google Scholar or ResearchGate site. At UAlbany, I teach courses related to second language learning, bilingualism, and TESOL. My staple courses are ETAP 501 The Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages, ETAP 536 Second Language Learning, and ETAP 635 Teaching Methodology for English Language Learners. My CV can be found here.

** 2022 Spring ** I am teaching a new seminar called "Issues in Language Education" in Spring 2022. The course provides a survey of language education issues related to equity in national and global contexts. It critically examines inequities inherent in educational policies and practices and discusses ways to promote linguistic diversity and equity in language education.
